ಶಿಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ

  1. Queue up in an orderly manner at ticket counters, AFC gates, and platforms -- let passengers alight before boarding.
  2. Stand on the right side of escalators, keep the left side clear for others to walk past.
  3. Give up priority seats for senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities.
  4. Keep mobile phone conversations and music at a low volume; use headphones for audio.
  5. Avoid eating, drinking, chewing tobacco/paan, or smoking inside stations and trains.
  6. Do not sit on the train floor, lean against the doors, or block them from closing.
  7. Maintain silence and avoid loud arguments or disruptive behaviour.
  8. Keep the coach clean -- use dustbins provided at stations, not the train floor.
  9. Allow women, elderly, and disabled passengers to use the reserved coach and seats without obstruction.

ಬ್ಯಾಗೇಜ್ ನೀತಿ

  • Each passenger may carry up to 25 kg of baggage, with a maximum size of 80cm x 50cm x 30cm. Bundled or oversized luggage is not permitted.
  • All baggage is screened through X-ray scanners at station entry; security staff may also carry out manual checks.
  • Prohibited items include: firearms, ammunition, and any kind of weapons; knives, swords, and other sharp objects; explosives, fireworks, and flammable materials (including matches, lighters, and petroleum products); corrosive substances and wet-cell batteries; radioactive materials; and pets or animals (except guide dogs for visually impaired passengers).
  • Sealed liquor bottles (up to 2 per passenger) are permitted.
  • Everyday electronics -- laptops, tablets, cameras, chargers, and power banks -- are allowed.
  • Items found to be prohibited are confiscated at the security checkpoint, and entry may be denied; serious violations can be handed over to the CISF or local police.

All luggage must be stowed in the dedicated luggage area, which can be found in each cabin.

  • Namma Metro does not set a minimum age for travelling alone -- there is no formal "unaccompanied minor" permit system like some other transit networks.
  • Children below 90 cm (approx. 3 feet) in height travel free and do not need a ticket; taller children are charged the normal adult fare.
  • Boys up to 12 years old may travel in the women's reserved coach only if accompanied by a woman passenger.
  • Security staff may check on a child travelling alone and contact a parent/guardian if they have safety concerns.
